Introduction

Helloo!
I’m Lena, a freelance graphic designer, photographer, and communication design diploma graduate, specializing in branding and print. I love working in an experimental and exploratory way, constantly trying out and discovering new approaches. This experimental way of working allows me to seamlessly integrate all my skills and create outstanding and unique designs.

Originally from Munich, I now call Cologne home, where I share a creative workspace with my partner, a very talented web designer. We complement each other perfectly - while I specialize in branding and print , he excels in digital and web design. Together, we’re inspired by the dynamic and evolving world of design, blending our strengths to create impactful results.

Approach

Research

After getting a clear brief from the client about their goals and vision, the journey begins with research. This phase is all about close collaboration, diving deep into ideas and insights, and working hand-in-hand to set the right direction for the project. With the insights and research I gather, I create different types of moodboards, which I then discuss with my clients to make sure i`m perfectly aligned with their vision.

Experimentation

This is where my personal fun begins. I play with different styles, techniques, and approaches — kind of like a creative laboratory. Nothing’s off-limits here; I seamlessly blend photography, illustration, and design, exploring how these elements flow together. It’s all about failing fast, and learning faster.

Implementation

This is where ideas take shape and come to life. In the implementation phase, I seamlessly integrate all my skills - combining design, illustration, and strategic thinking - to transform concepts into polished, functional outcomes. It’s about delivering designs that are visually striking, effective, and perfectly aligned with the overall goals.

Branding

I create brandings that ensures high recognition value, consistency, and a clean, functional design. By delving deep into market insights, I craft a distinctive visual language that leaves a lasting impression and fosters genuine connections with your audience.

Print/Packaging

For Print and Packaging, I create high-quality designs that bring a brand's identity to life in the physical world. With a strong passion for embossing, foiling, and other special finishes, I love preserving the art of print in a digital-driven world. I enjoy working in an experimental and explorative way, pushing creative boundaries while keeping designs functional. Whether it's custom packaging or premium printed materials, my goal is to craft tactile experiences that elevate the brand’s story.

Illustration

I provide illustration services in a range of styles and techniques, working both analog and digitally. This includes creating hand drawn logos, as well as illustrations for branding, editorial, and other projects. My approach is adaptable to suit the unique needs of each client.

Photography

Photography, both a passion and a profession for me, seamlessly integrates into my design work. This allows me to independently create visuals that enhance projects in a unique and personal way.

Digital Design

My digital design services include the creation of designs for websites, apps, social media, pitch decks, e-books, and more. The focus is on creating clean and functional layouts that enhance user experience while maintaining aesthetic quality.

Webdesign

I offer web design and implementation in Framer or Webflow for smaller projects, ensuring clean and functional results. For complex or larger website projects, I refer clients to my trusted partner, Luca Gonzalez Sonst, who specializes in such projects.
